For a long time, I refused to put a picture of myself online. Then, in 1997, I did it without even thinking twice. Now, I'm trying to track down, scan, and post any picture of myself I can find. Many of them are fairly old (circa 1995-6); many are pictures taken at parties, or at NACURH conferences. Many pictures are still yet to be posted. A lot of them look really dumb. I'm trying to find better ones. But pictures of yourself are supposed to look dumb anyway, aren't they?
Many of theses images are scaled according to your browser window size, so if they look poor, resizing your browser may improve their appearance.
Oh, and a DISCLAIMER: I do not present these pictures as an accurate representation of myself, my appearance, or my personality -- because most of them make me look pretty stupid. That said...
These pictures are all from my high school ID cards. We didn't really use
our HS ID cards for anything. We needed them to take the SATs, and that's
it. I used to carry these around with me to show people "what I used to
look like." Combined with a collection of photos of me as a child, these
were part of a gallery I called "the progression of ugliness."
Oh, about the sunglasses... those were photograys, and I had just come
in from outside.
This was my HS yearbook picture.
I still have a bunch of these, even though they're five years old.
I think I look a lot like my father in this one.
This is the first picture of me that I ever
scanned and put on the Net, as I mentioned above. Originally, the pictures
on that page were very
small crops of group photos, so they were pretty bad. Eventually the people who took over that site took much better pictures of people.

These are all ID's of mine. The first is my Northeastern University ID
from 1996 (the old-style NU ID). the second is my new-style NU ID, and the
last is my current MA Driver's License. (Yeah, I erased my social security
numbers. And yeah, that's my real address. Go ahead, stalk me. I dare ya.)
I look like a goth in the second one, which is pretty cool. :)
This was taken at the banquet at the NACURH 1998 conference in Nebraska.
The following few pics were all taken in my hall during late Summer quarter, 1995. I never bothered to develop the roll until after I graduated, when I began developing a number of old rolls of film. This roll was developed in late 1999. Many of the people in them are barely recognizable now, including me. Some people haven't been seen since. Looking back, I realize this period was one of the most memorable times of my life, although I spent most of it depressed.
1. Sophomore year (1995). 2. Summer 1995, in my dorm room. 3. At a party in room 302, summer 1995.
I don't think the moustache look was really my thing. And please don't
ask about the clothes. It was summer... I had a lot of leftover high
school clothes... I was drunk a lot... I was poor too... did I mention
being drunk?
Some more recent pictures of me, taken with my digital camera, August
2000.
